Data Engineering and Warehousing
Data Engineering Services
The problem is rarely that you lack data. It is that answering a straightforward question means exporting from four systems and reconciling them by hand, which takes a day and produces a number nobody fully trusts.
Pipelines fix that by moving data automatically, on a schedule, with the cleaning and matching applied consistently every time rather than however the person doing the export happened to do it that month.
Done properly this is invisible. Nobody thanks a working pipeline. What they notice is that the reporting is current, the numbers agree, and nobody spends Monday morning building a spreadsheet.
The reconciling is where most of the value sits. A customer in your CRM, a purchaser in your store and a conversion in your ad account are frequently the same person recorded three different ways, and matching them is what turns three partial views into one.
What We Do
From pipelines and warehouses through to modelling and the reporting built on top, our data engineering covers everything between scattered systems and one number everyone trusts. Select a service below to find out more.

How We Do It
We start with what you have rather than what you should have. Which systems hold what, where the duplication is, and which manual work actually costs your team time worth reclaiming.
From there we agree what to build and in what order, starting with the thing that removes the most friction rather than the thing that demonstrates the most technology.
Then we build it, test it against real cases, and document it. You get something your team can operate and amend, not a black box only we can maintain.
Why Us
We have been running campaigns from our base in Surrey since 2005, so we build this as marketers who have to live with the result rather than as a technical exercise signed off and handed over. That shapes what gets built. Systems designed by people who never have to use the output tend to be impressive and unhelpful. We have an in-house dev and tech team, so data engineering work is implemented by us rather than passed to a third party, and the people who built it are the people you can ask about it. We are independent, which means every client gets senior attention rather than being handed down the ranks. That holds whether you are a local business or a national brand. You get a named team who know your setup, honest advice about what is worth building, and a partner who treats your business like our own.

The Impact
One trustworthy source of data removes the argument that precedes most decisions. Meetings stop being about whose number is right and start being about what to do next.
It also unlocks everything built on top. Attribution, automation and any use of AI all depend on data being clean and connected, so this is the foundation those things either stand on or fail from.

Frequently Asked Questions
A central store where data from all your systems is brought together in a consistent structure. Unlike the systems it draws from, it is built for analysis rather than for running day to day operations, which is why questions that span several sources become answerable.
Extract, transform, load. Taking data out of a system, cleaning and reshaping it, then putting it somewhere useful. It is the plumbing behind almost all reporting, and when it is working nobody thinks about it.
Building and maintaining the systems that move data from where it is created to where it is needed. Less about analysing data than about making sure the data an analyst uses is complete, current and consistent.
An automated route that data travels along, from source through cleaning and into wherever it is used. Once built it runs on a schedule, which is what stops reporting depending on someone remembering to export a file.
A database is built to run an application quickly, handling many small operations. A warehouse is built to answer questions across large volumes of history. Using one for the other's job is possible and usually painful.
BigQuery, Snowflake and Redshift all do the job well. The right answer usually follows what you already use, since a business running on Google tooling will find BigQuery simpler to connect. We recommend on your setup rather than on preference.
Only once answering questions means pulling from several systems and reconciling them by hand. If your data lives in two places and the reporting works, you do not need one yet, and we will tell you that rather than selling you one.
There is build cost and then running cost. Cloud warehouses charge on storage and query volume, which is usually modest for marketing data. The build is the larger figure and depends on how many sources and how messy they are. We scope it upfront.
The term is used loosely and usually oversold. Most mid-sized businesses do not have big data, they have scattered data, which is a different problem with a cheaper solution. Connecting what you have will do more than anything branded big data.
A focused marketing warehouse pulling from a handful of sources takes a few weeks. Something spanning the whole business takes months. We would rather deliver something useful early and extend it than disappear for a quarter.
